First day.. Ms. Appleyard will introduce herself to the students.

First day.. Explain procedures. Talk with students about expectations.
Typically.. Each morning students will have science during this time block to explore our curriculum and become masters at using the scientific method!

First day.. Goal-setting activity.
Typically.. Every morning students will travel back through time with the social studies curriculum. Current events will also be integrated into our classes, as well.

First day.. Explain proceduces. Set up math notebooks. Activity to set up "clock buddies".

First day.. Give students an interest/attitude survey on reading. Ms. Appleyard will share her reading life.
Typically.. Reading is essential to the language arts curriculum. Students will explore different genres throughout the course of the year. In addition, students will be given ample time to read in class either silently, with partners or small groups.

First day.. Our Spanish teacher, Senora Lanka, will come in and introduce herself to the students.

First day.. The whole fifth grade will meet together in the media center to go over "5th grade procedures".

First day.. Show the book trailer for read aloud book. Make predictions.
